Oscar
Breed: Holland Lop mix
Loved: blueberries and bananas
Naughty: snored when you tried to work
Nice: friendly and snugly
Oscar was the original Bunny Blessings bunny. We found him on Craigslist in 2013 and he immediately became part of our family. Many people came to know and love Oscar through our posts of his adorable furry self snoozing in front of the fridge waiting for snacks. After nine beautiful years during which he helped launch this amazing ministry, Oscar passed away in December 2021 from tummy troubles. Bunny Blessings will forever be grateful to this first sweet bunny who taught us the joy of loving a bunny.

Charlie
Breed: Netherland Dwarf
Loved: strawberries and Millie, in that order
Naughty: thought he could pick fights with bunnies much larger than himself
Nice: always cheerful and wanted to play
Charlie was the tiniest of the bunch, his playful personality packed a big punch. He was a crowd favorite at events with folks always asking, "Where's Charlie?" as soon as we walked in the door. Charlie took only brief naps to be sure he didn't miss out on any fun. He loved his lady Millie and the two of them together was just the cutest thing you'd ever seen! Unfortunately, Charlie was diagnosed (April 2022) with an incurable cancer. He was no longer going out on visits but was instead spending his time enjoying Millie, our volunteers and playing in the Bunny Barn. Sadly, sweet Charlie passed on July 7, 2022. We were so blessed by the big love given by this special little bunny.

Loved: bossing Buster around
Naughty: enjoyed fussing at the kind folks who clean her home and "mess with her stuff"
Nice: demonstrated that even with a disability, she was an awesome love bunny
Bella was a sleek Dutch bunny who we adopted from Carolina Waterfowl Rescue. Bella unfortunately suffered some disease in her right eye that was resistant to treatment and had to be removed. There was some concern that people would be turned off by her disability, but we quickly decided that we loved her message, "I'm not perfect but I have big things to do and lots of love to give." Bella gave a lot of love to all she met. We were delighted that Bella quickly fell in love with and bonded to our handsome Buster. Sadly, Bella developed a cancerous growth that spread quickly and took her from us on July 25, 2022. We miss her and are thankful for the big love she shared.

Gracie Mae

Naughty: thought it's occasionally fun to make huge messes with her pine pellets for volunteers to clean up
Nice: was an awesome mama to her 9 babies
Gracie Mae was a gorgeous Blue Tort English Lop who was adopted into our program and sneakily brought along her babies. Surprise, surprise, surprise to us when she gave birth to nine wriggling pink babies about a month after she arrived. Gracie was a wonderful mama and raised her babies until they were ready to be on their own. All but one baby, Lucy Lou, was adopted to new families and then mama and Lucy settled into a happy life in the Bunny Barn. Gracie and Lucy have made our volunteers, community and social media followers smile many, many times. Gracie worked hard for our mission to Love One Another. Her beautiful ears, huge feet and sweet personality won over many hearts. Our hearts are sad as we said goodbye to this precious soul on October25, 2023 . Gracie’s health deteriorated quickly in recent weeks and it was time to let her go. We are thankful for the many good times and the blessing she was to many. Gracie’s mission is complete.

Breed: Dwarf Hotot Loved: raspberries and baby carrots Naughty: didn't share the bunny castle Nice: she was our beautiful & adorable diva Millie came to us from Craigslist when her owner needed to re-home her. She was the princess of her castle and seemed to not recognize she was a bunny like the rest. Millie was a little Diva who was a bit shy if she didn't know you but when she warmed up, she enjoyed head and ear rubs. With her beautiful blue eyes ringed in black, Millie convinced you she was a princess too! After many upper respiratory infections and lots of muscle loss due to aging, Millie completed her mission on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. She was a little bunny with a LOT of love and she shared it well! |
Max

Nice: loved BIG! & loved to cuddle
Max was our smallest bunny and came to us in spring 2022 from a local family who wanted him to have more attention and free playtime than they were able to provide. Max had quickly gotten used to the good life in the Bunny Barn and was very friendly. He was quickly adapted to our therapy visits and was a great addition to our ministry. He and Millie bonded nicely and could be found snuggling on their favorite rug in their favorite box!
After many serious health complications, Max completed his mission as a tiny but mighty bunny on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. He may have been small but he loved others BIG!

Lennon had been known by our nonprofit for a few years as some of our volunteers bunny sat him and fell in love with him. When his family felt they could no longer provide him with the attention he needed, they messaged us to see if he could be part of our ministry. Our familiarity with him led us to quickly say YES! Lennon loved being in the Bunny Barn with his new bunny friends and was happy to play with our volunteers. Lennon loved having his soft floppy ears scratched and getting treats. He completed his mission to Love One Another on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from tummy troubles. We are grateful to have shared our mission with this special and handsome bunny!
